Who is this course for?

Welding engineers, welding coordinators, QC and inspection personnel involved in the qualification of welding procedures under PED Directive 2014/68/EU and harmonised standards.

Learning objectives — by the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify the responsibilities of a pressure equipment manufacturer with reference to the PED Directive and/or Harmonised Standards for the qualification of welding procedures
  • Identify the main welding parameters for qualification and their classification (essential, non-essential variables etc.)
  • Review a Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
  • Review a Welding Procedure / Process Qualification Record (WPQR)
  • Review a Welder Qualification Record (WQR)
  • Write a WPS according to UNI/EN/ISO 15614-1:2019

Requirements to access the course

No specific entry requirements; basic experience in pressure equipment fabrication and welding is recommended.

Delivery method

In-person course — at a date and location agreed with you, or at a venue indicated by us in accordance with the C&P calendar. Course materials include the delegate handout (PDF). Selected introductory presentations can also be delivered by distance learning.

Certificate

All attendees receive a course attendance certificate. Auditor-grade courses include a final examination — successful candidates receive a qualified-pass certificate aligned with the audit qualification requirements of ISO 19011.
