Notified Body for PED ASME AIA ISO 19443 Accredited

We operate as a Notified Body under Directive 2014/68/EU, conducting inspections and certifications for pressure equipment and simple vessels aligned with European standards. PED is the European standard that establishes safety standards for pressure equipment, ensuring equipment is designed, constructed and operated safely throughout the EU.

Core safety requirements

The directive mandates essential safety standards covering structural integrity, leak prevention, thermal protection and explosion safeguards. Manufacturers must compile complete technical documentation demonstrating compliance and bear responsibility for meeting all directive requirements.

Equipment classification — Categories I to IV

Pressure vessels are categorised into four risk levels — Category I (low hazard) to Category IV (high hazard) — with classification determining the assessment and certification level needed. The right module depends on the category and the manufacturer's chosen route.

Conformity assessment modules

PED offers conformity assessment modules A1, B, C2, D, D1, E, E1, F, G, H and H1. We are notified for the full set of relevant modules — meaning a single Notified Body can take you from design assessment to factory surveillance to product marking.

CE marking

PED-compliant pressure vessels must be marked with the CE symbol, which indicates compliance with the directive. For product examination-based procedures, manufacturers submit form AM011N containing commercial references, design specifications, fluid type information and risk category designation, accompanied by technical drawings, design calculations, test results and evidence of manufacturing process approvals.
